Travel

With over 10 years experience designing custom trips, I aim to listen very carefully and design your dream trip offering the best options available.   Having lived in Italy since 2015, I will only recommend destinations that I personally know that have an excellent reputation.  Still, this is the South of Italy and things can be sometimes unpredictable, so I am offering to personally escort you through the Southern regions I love and know so well.

We will, of course, work together to design a trip to meet your specifications and budget.

Sample Itinerary:

I will personally greet you at the Naples airport. We will stay a couple days in Naples, this gorgeous and gritty city, the capital of Campania where the Slow Food Movement and Mozzarella cheese were born.  We’ll visit the famous markets, walk and sample some of the local dishes: pizza, of course, which was invented here and has been, as of very recently, announced as a UNESCO protected treasure, we can have a lesson with the certifier
of authentic Napolitano pizza, eat spaghetti al vongole (with clams) and sample some of Italy’s best pastries and also the best coffee in Italy.

Accommodations
5 star very comfortable and centrally located Hotel. Includes private transportation and English speaking guide (me).

We'll take a private boat to the Amalfi Coast for a few days of regional, Southern Italian cooking, wines and other local fare and cooking lessons.  We’ll travel by boat to explore the charming villages, sample the lemons and limoncello in Sorrento and Amalfi, shop in Positano and sample the candied lemons.  We’ll visit the private studios of world famous ceramicists, you may want to ship home some commissioned pieces.

Accommodations in a private villa. All transportation and cooking classes included.

Then, I want to offer you a very unique experience to participate in village life in Guardia Sanframondi, my adopted home, to enjoy a few days as guests of the Guardiese, the most hospitable folks to relax and slip into the slow paced life that most tourists miss out on.   Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, I want to give you an opportunity to experience the life I love, from having coffee with the locals, making pasta with the nonnas
(grandmothers) who are now my adopted family, explore the medieval village and 1000 year old castle,
explore Greek and Roman ruins, enjoy some pampering and take in the thermal waters in the nearby spa town where  you will sleep in a beautiful old world spa resort known for its understated elegance.  Taste the local  Falanghina and Aglianico wines which are just becoming well known outside of Italy.   They are arguably
some of the best wines in Italy and Europe.   I was recently at an upscale Italian restaurant in San Francisco, and was pleasantly surprised to see some of Guardia's wines on the wine list!   Also, you can enjoy the home made
wines my friends make in their wine cellars with their reserve grapes.  We can visit local farms, watch demonstrations for Mozzarella and Scamorza cheese, bread making,  honey ...Depending on the season, we can
participate in the annual grape and olive harvest and celebrate in the wine and food festivals of this and surrounding lively medieval villages, where time seems to have stopped.

Includes
Accommodations, private transportation, welcome dinner and cooking lessons, me.

A warm farewell feast marks the end of our time together, reminiscing cherished memories with new friends
with the hope that we shall meet again. You will be transferred to your airport or, depending on departure times, to a conveniently located hotel near you airport, with escorted morning departure.

Arrivederci, until we meet again.
